About My Education

I received my B.A. degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) from Washington State University in May of 2003. was involved in many undergraduate programs including the MIS Fellows program as well as the Honors College and the MIS Club.

Taken from the MIS Fellows website:

The MIS Fellowship Program is a prestigious, competitive on-campus internship for one of the best MIS programs across the country. The MIS faculty select the best and brightest among the undergraduate MIS students to serve as MIS "Fellows" for a semester. The Fellows then participate together with the faculty in hands on, real world, MIS research. The types of research projects that MIS Fellows are involved in include helping to manage state-of-the-art computer servers and computing facilities, developing high-end software applications, and assisting with technology usability studies.

MIS Fellows enroll for 2 units of internship credit for the semester and then work for approximately 10 to 12 hours per week during the semester as a Fellow for the MIS Program. While this is currently an unpaid internship, Fellows are able to gain direct, valuable, first-hand experience with exciting new technologies.

I participated in the fellows program for Fall of 2002 to Spring of 2003. My Fellows intership afforded me many great opportunities to learn more about computing, programing, and many other interesting subjects. My focus was on the interaction of intelligent agents and user participation.

I was also in the WSU Honors College. For my senior Honors Thesis I created a research paper on my experiences with the EDS CNS Wireless Team entitled: "The Implementation of EDS Wireless Networks at General Motors plants and production facilities; A Case Study."

The following is a list of some of the classes I took during my time at WSU. These classes gave me an incredible understanding of and appreciation for the Information Technology industry:

  • MIS 150: C Programming
  • MIS 153: Visual Basic Programming
  • MIS 202: Implementing Windows 2000
  • MIS 250: MIS Industry Technology
  • MIS 253: COBOL Programming
  • MIS 325: Java Programming
  • MIS 372: Database Design
  • MIS 374: Telecommunications
  • MIS 375: Electronic Commerce
  • MIS 425: Advanced Visual Basic
  • MIS 448: IS Project Management
  • MIS 472: Database Design, Development, and Deployment
  • MGT 301: Management and Organization
  • MGT 491: Business Strategy
  • ECON 198: Honors Economics
  • BLAW 210: Business Law
  • ACTG 230: Financial Accounting
  • ACTG 231: Management Accounting
  • ECON 320: Money and Banking
