Who is this guy?!

Where to start...probably at the beginning!

I was born in Silver Springs, Marylaynd. My dad worked for a company called Control Data Corporation (CDC) who offered him a contract job for ESCOM in South Africa! So, at 6 months old, I was taken to one of the most amazing countries on the planet. While we were there, my parents truly enjoyed their expatriate experience. The company was great about paying for fligths home to see family, and the best part was that we could stop in any country we wanted on the way to and from the States. By the time I was 3 years old, I had seen almost every country in Europe! When I was 4 1/2 my parents returned to the United States with enough money to buy a house in Minnesota.

I can hardly remember Minnesota...except for the fact that it was cold. Dad continued to work for CDC there for 2 years, at which point he accepted a great offer to work for Boeing in Huntsville, Alabama.

We were back in the South! My parents are originally from Georgia, so they liked being back closer to home. My dad worked for several different areas within Boeing while we were in Hunstville, but the most exciting was the work he did with the International Space Station. Huntsville was a space town and this was central to what it was about. I mean, my elementary school was named after the shuttle Challenger and my high school was named after an astronaut -- Grissom! Hunstville was a great place to do most of my growing up. I made some really great friends there that I continue to talk to today. After 8 years in Alabama, my dad took another position with Boeing in the Pacific Northwest. We were off to Seattle!

I was about 15 when we came to Washington. We ended up moving to a town called North Bend, which is about 30 minutes from downtown Seattle. It was a gorgeous place, with an incredible mountain (Mount Si) stuck right in the middle. Unfortunately, it rained more than anywhere I've ever been. I finished out my 2 remaining years of High School at Mt. Si High School and then moved to my home for the next 4 years...Pullman Washington.

GO COUGS!!! I was in Pullman attending Washington State University (WSU) for 4 years. My freshman year of college was spent in misery in a dorm and in a major that was just plain wrong for me. After changing my major from Mechanical Engineering to Management Information Systems and moving off campus, life changed dramatically for me. I graduated from WSU with an Honors Degree in MIS in May of 2003. Real life begins...

In 2003 I took a job in Troy, MI with EDS as a wireless network engineer. Life in Michigan was ok, but the winters were tough at times. It was a long ways from Washington and from our families, but we managed to get home to see them often enough. My parents took a position in Australia and Steph's parents are living in Spokane.

So...that's about it for now. If you would like to know more about what makes me tick, check out my Interests page. Thanks for stopping by!
