I finally got my SS installed!
Installation:
Major PITA! my car is a late 95, so all the exhaust bolts were plenty
rusted. Took quite a bit of time (overnight) for the liquid wrench to take
effect. I had to buy a new set of box end wrenchs to do it right, MUST have
6-point box-ends! I also could not get the O2 Sensor unplugged (this may
have been easier if done before lifting the car, if done from above the
car...). With the exhaust off, everything went much quicker, except trying
to manuver the shifter outta the box w/o removing the cables. (Again, could
have been easier if I had removed the cables from the box, this was not
possible cuz I couldn't get enough torque on the nuts with the box dangling
there...). Reinstallation took about 1 hour (including a trip to the
hardware store). Note: I put the cat-header back together with some
Stainless Steel hardware. So next time hopefully won't take 3 hours to get
the exhaust off...
Impression:
WOW! This is very, very short! I Love it!, after doing a little
adjustment, this thing is WAY smoother than stock (I'm sure the MT-90 helps
a little too). gears engage very well, I thought it's take me more than
the 2 minute drive I took to get used to it. It's just soo damn nice to
have a decent shifter in this thing finally!!
If you havn't yet done this mod, make it your next! However I'd recommend
getting the AWE kit from Todd, since It's a bunch cheaper. (I just could
not pass up the deal I got on a used Neuspeed.)
