Almost all of the difference is in how the shifters look in the engine 
bay. The original looks stock. 

Summary of differences between Original and Race shifters: 

1. The Race and the Original shifters have very, very little difference 
in feel (totally excellent in our biased opinion!). The biggest 
difference is that the Original Shifter looks almost exactly like stock. 
Not a real big deal. 

2.  Original Short Shift Kits require a $50 refundable core charge while 
the Race Shifters do not.  

3.  The Race shifter is about 5% shorter in the side to side direction. 

NOTE:   Neither shifter lowers or changes the shift lever inside the 
car...all changes are in the engine bay.
