I've had Neuspeed front tie bars, which use nutserts, on an '80 cab for
200+K miles, a '92 16V GTI for over 64K, and a '97 GTI VR6 for close to
40K, with 0, zilch, nada, no, problems, whatsoever.
There is nothing wrong with using nutserts in this application, due to
the geometry of the forces that are applied. Vector analysis can
demonstrate this, but I think the quantified data that I quote above is
way more than enough to quell your fears...
