I had a similar noise from my steering column that sounded kinda like a
slight scraping sound. Found out that it was the brass contact for the
horn. You have to remove the steering wheel and hub, and you will find a
little brass contact at the 6 o'clock position on the face of the steering
column. Use a little dielectric grease to lube it up and everything should
be fine.
