Has anyone here replaced their hoses for the power steering? My
high pressure line has a small leak and the return line isn't looking
so good either. Is there anything I should watch out for? The install
doesn't lo ok too hard. How much did parts run?

    This would be for a '97 GTI-VR6.

    Any info would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

  Joe,

Not sure about the price but it's a pretty simple install. When
draining the lines turn the wheel stop to stop a few times to allow
the ports in the steering rack to open/close and get access to more
of the old fluid. Use the VW fluid ONLY so it won't dissolve the
seals. After repairing & replacing line/fluid the fluid will f oam,
so make sure the reservoir level doesn't get too low when the foam
subsides. Try using a Turkey baser to pull the foam out and replace
it with fluid.
