I would sell the CL but due to tax reasons, the golf VR6 would cost me
about US$90,000 from the dealer although I did see a 1995 VR6 for US$50,000
the other day. Anyway, my only chance of having a VR6 for under US$20,000
is to buy a tax free VR6, cut the unit body in half (to avoid tax) and
convert all the parts onto my Golf CL, including all options and even the
automatic transmission of the VR6 since I am not convinced the VR6 is a
true GTI (might even put some wood on the dashboard!). That's why I'm
keeping my 1988 Golf gti 16v (which is worth US$16,000 here).
