Anyone running ETKA on Windows XP? I tried installing it today and it won't
run. I keep getting "hardlock not present". Tried running the hardlock
installation and it goes to a blue background (not "the" blue screen, BTW)
and hangs up. Anyone else run into this?

Thanks,

Luke

From memory, in XP, you can run a program in compatibility mode (right click on it and check out the options you get - it may be in properties)

Cheers,

Is this the 5.30 version that a lot of people have? If so I'm pretty sure
what you need to do (after running the installation program from the CD) is
to copy the LEXHDL5.DLL and LEXHDLL5.DLL files from the EPC_PROG.W95 folder
on the installation CD and place them in the c:\epc_prog folder on the hard
drive, overwriting the files that are already there. I think I had a
problem on one computer with the ETKA shortcut not working after doing all
that. IIRC the original shortcut target was c:\epc_prog\W_SELECT.EXE and
once I changed it to c:\epc_prog\WINETKA.EXE everything was fine.

Hope that helps

This is exactly what you need to do. I have it written right on the front of my CD to do this on WinNT, and since XP's kernel is based on NT, the same procedure applies. Works great.

That's what I ended up doing and it worked like a charm. Thanks all!
