Bri, I have a CDX-780 and it took me about 30 minutes from start to
finish to complete the install. Do you have the stock radio out yet? If
you do not have the VW tool, I suggest that you obtain one or go to an
install shop and ask them to pull the stock radio 5$ if not free. Do you
have the antenna adapter? And lastly I ***STRONGLY*** suggest that you
use the plugs that you can obtain from Crutchfield to mate to your stock
wiring harness. DO NOT cut your stock harness. The adapters for the
antenna and the power / speakers plug right in, sidestepping the
possible short / wrong wire possibility that could damage your radio /
VR6. When you install the cage for the radio, only bend a retainer in
each corner, you'll thank me if you ever have to remove it!!! And
lastly, Take a black permanent marker and color the front lip of the
cage so that you do not see it after you snap on the trim piece. Hope
