Well, the subject line says it all. I ordered the adapter cable yesterday,
put it in around lunch time, powered up the radio and hit the CD button, and
I get the dreaded NO CHANGER message. So I opened the trunk to see what was
going on and I saw smoke coming out of the changer. Uh-oh.
I called Blitzsafe and needless to say they were surprised to hear what
happened (not nearly as surprised as I was to see my new CD changer catch on
fire). They asked me to send in the changer and the cable and they'll take
care of it. I just hope whatever happened didn't destroy my VW head unit.
I'll keep you posted as to what happens. This has been a horrible
experience, I'm thinking that I would have been better off paying the $500
for the dealer changer, at least I would have had it working by now.
