I've experienced both leaks. The oil pan gasket was replaced under
warranty during my 30k service, and hasn't leaked in the 3k since.
Oil in the intake comes from the PCV valve tube, and not only does it
coat the inside of the intake passage and throtle body, but it drips
from the less-than-tight PCV-pipe-to-intake-pipe connection. The cause
(for me at least) seems to be the result of simply using the required
amount of oil. I try to keep my dipstick showing 1/4 of the way down
from full, to prevent oil from being sucked through the PCV valve into
the intake. Those of you with drum-tight engines that use no oil should
consider yourselves lucky -- my car is at the dealer every few months so
they can pull my intake and throttle body to clean out the oil that has
collected. I should probably have them clean the manifold, too. This
seems like a faulty design, and really pisses me off...
