It's come down to this.  I need coil pack.  I tried the fix and it worked
for a while but now i'm ready to purchase a new one along with new spark
plugs and wires.  Has anyone used the OEM VW VR6 Coil Pack by Beru from

I've had nothing but problems with the Beru coil packs. I've warranted
dozens of them in the past year. Now I stopped selling them...I'll only sell
OE(non-beru)ones now. They are made by Temic. They are pricey but no
problems.

For what it's worth; (short version)

I got a new Beru coilpack, and it was bad. When it got hot, the car ran
really bad. Potterman took it back under warranty and I traded up for the
Temic one, and it runs great now. Not to say that all Beru packs are bad,
but perhaps you do indeed get what you pay for.
