Open the hood, reach down behind the bumper and twist off the lock ring.
Under there is a little metal clip that hold the bulb in, just release it
(should be obvious how to), and disconnect power lead. Remember not to
touch the bulbs. Putting them back together is little more tricky, as it's
kind of tough to get the grip required to twist the lock ring back on.
Takes a whole 20 minutes to change both with the exception of the
struggling to get the right side lock ring back on.

What are you installing in the place of the stock bulb? I put in 100W and
have had no problems with heat, but the brightness really didn't increase
much, in my opinion.

It's me again Patty and fellow members.

Well, I too have tried to replace my fog light bulbs. I had my driver's
side light go out on me. So I took out the whole unit and disconnected
the wires. Then I noticed that my bulb (H1?) is "glued" to the unit with
tar. Yes, that black stuff. I had trouble taking it out and ended up
braking it then chiping the rest off with a screw driver. I tried to sand
around it too so that I can fit a new bulb through. Well, I thought I had
done a good enough job. The light bulb went in fine but it was too close
to the tar. Then the next time I turned it on it melted the tar and
turned my lenses yellow. Boy was it ugly. So now I am searching for a
new one if anybody wants to sell me theirs. I just need the driver's
side. Contact me personally if you have one.

But the point of this story is make sure you leave enough space between
the bulb and the tar.

And how did you reach in from the engine compartment to change the light?
Is mine the only one that is "glued" in?

I used a flat head screw driver to remove the middle 'fake' light
between the fog light and the signal light. Than you'll see a Philip
head screw holding the fog light. Remove that screw and again,
carefully use the flat head screw driver to remove the fog light as you
do to the 'fake' light. As the 'fake' light, there is a metal clip in
the fog light assembly that holds it into place. Once you do that, you
can pull the entire fog light assembly out. You can now twist open the
housing to replace the bulb. I've replaced them with a pair of Japanese
made H3 bulb mixed with Zenon gas and it's much brighter than the stock
bulbs.

Hope this help.

Foglights are 55w H3 bulbs. Changing the bulbs is a huge hassle. You
pretty much have to pull the whole assembly out to do it. It is
reccomended not to put anything bigger than a 55w cause it will melt the
housing

I've had 100W bulbs for a year in my current assemblies with no
problems. You can easily change the driver side bulb from the back
without removing the assembly. You can also do the right side in this way,
but it is extremely difficult. I'd recommend removing the assembly for
that side.

I have Sylvania (Osram) bulbs. They are plain white (no special color), and
made in Germany. If memory serves they were $12 each or so at Pep Boys. I
wrecked this car and smashed the front end just over a year ago, so the
assemblies and bulbs were replaced then. I had the "bigger" bulbs before
the accident. The body shop put these bulbs in (I insisted on 100W
replacements), and I checked their work, and they used the same Sylvania
bulbs that I did originally.

Honestly, they are a little brighter, but it's not really a drastic
improvement.

I replaced my bulbs (when they burned out) with bulbs of the same
wattage. I reached BOTH of them from the TOP using no tools. Unscrewed
the back of the fog assy and there is a clip that needs opened, and the
light pops out. Also a wire needs attached. Patience is really needed
and be careful with the filament!! They POP if they get dirty!

Sylvania (Osram) 55W and 100W are available at Pepboys. IIRC, the 100W's
are about $9 each.

Ok it is done and took about 15 min. The key is to get under the car
after it has been jacked up by our trusty Bilstein jack. Locate the fog
light in question and remove the black rubber round protective
covering. Doing this will reveal a round silver metal holder of the
bulb. Reach into the center of the round circle and release the pacer
clip type bulb holder ( exactly like the hella dual round bulb) by
squeezing them together and then moving them out of the way so that the
bulb slides out. The hella h3 bulb is connected to the black rubber
cover by one wire so remove it and slide the new bulb wire into the
space evacuated by the old bulb. Place the new bulb into the space in
the silver fog light holder/circle and re attach the paper clip like
metal tabs back into their original position. The tabs will click into
place and you will feel this. Place the rubber cover back on the silver
circle by twisting counter clock wise. That's it you are done. Just
make sure to jack the car up enough or the radiator will be in the way
of you getting to the fogs.

Do fog lights have to be aimed like regular lights?

Back to the dilemma of accessing the passenger side fog light. I found that
it was pretty accessible if you removed the plastic grill located directly
below the fog light housing unit. After this is removed you can fit a hand
into the newly created hole to access the light. If you have small hands it
should make it pretty easy... I don't but it is much easier than trying to
get the entire housing unit out. Just thought i'd pass on my findings...
