Recaro Seat Install for '98 VW A3 GTI
My installation of a Recaro Orthpaed driver's side seat in my early '98
VW GTI VR6 went pretty easily from the instructions, but when I finally
got the seat all in, I found that the only positions the seat could put
in were all the way back and one stop forward from that.
It turned out that the outside rear seat guide was hanging up on the
track it slides into.....there was some metal where there wasn't on the
original VW seat. The track had little upside down wave tips that
were hitting. So I ground a notch out of that outside read seat bracket
(on the forward side of the bracket only) to clear them.
